I grew up in Christian Science, it’s how I worshiped God.  I believed in it, I practiced it, I was healed through it.  And then one day I found the truth in the Bible.

Christian Scientists think they know the Bible.  Many of them read it daily, along with Mary Baker Eddy’s book, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures”.  And it’s true that Christian Scientists are among the most knowledgeable in regard to the Bible.  The first tenant of Christian Science affirms how Christian Science views the Bible:

“As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life.”

So what could possible be wrong with this picture?  The truth is that Christian Science does not follow the Bible.  They use what they call their “metaphysical interpretation” which they say is far advanced from what the Bible actually says.  According to Christian Science, there is no sin, disease or death.  This is in direct opposition to what the Bible says:

Romans 3:10  “As it is written*, There is none righteous, no not one. ”            (*  this refers to Psalms 14:3)

Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Mary Baker Eddy lied to her followers in her time, and religious leaders were quick to point out the differences between Christian Science and Christianity.  I have included several books on my website that talk about this, written by people that knew her.

Christian Science is well known for its ability to heal.  The truth is that it is God that heals, not Christian Science.  And though Christian Scientists readily admit this, the connotation remains that somehow Christian Science plays a part in the healing process.

The truth about Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science is very different from what the Christian Science church professes.  The truth is that Mary Baker Eddy was greedy, a liar and a plagiarizer.  History reveals this when you dig into the facts.  This isn’t just my opinion, but opinions expressed by numerous people who knew her.  You can read much more, written in her days,  here.

    1. Thanks for your reply, I’m glad this has helped you. As an ex-Christian Scientist that has found the truth about Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science, I could not in good conscience just let this religion continue to go without doing my part to spread the truth about what they do. As my friend Tanner said, it is just a matter of time before this religion finally dies out on it’s own. I’m just trying to do my part to move things along.

  3. In the years after Mary Baker Eddy discovered Christian Science there were numerous people who came forward to to dispute everything from from her early life to who really discovered Christian Science. Far too many claims from too many people to be disregarded. I have documented a number of these on my website:

    TheTruthaboutChristianScience.com.

An excellent book on Eddy, readily available, is “Mrs. Eddy: the biography of a virginal mind”. This book contains a mountain of information and it is inconceivable that all of this could have been fabricated, as The Mother Church suggests.
